5 steps to protect and repair your hair this fall

The weather is changing, the leaves are falling, and the air is getting colder. It is the season of warm homes, long showers, and cozy moments inside. But while autumn feels comforting, it can have quite an impact on your hair. The cold air outside with wind and rain, combined with the dry air from indoor heating, can leave your hair feeling dry, dull, and frizzy. Static and breakage are common this time of year, but do not worry. With the right care and a few simple habits, your hair can stay smooth, healthy, and shining all season long.

Step 1: hydration is key

Make sure to keep your hair hydrated! By using the right products you can accomplish healthy hair that can resist the dry and cold air of this season. Products like the powerful K18 shampoo & conditioner, to help clean, recover and protect your hair within your washing routine. After the shower, apply a serum like the ‘’No Frizz Vanisching Oil’’ by Living Proof to help moisturize your sensitive hair. It is important to use the right products for your hair type! Get advised by our hair professionals in order to make sure you use the best products, tailored to your needs.

Step 2: hair mask

Treat your hair with a hair mask once a week. This gives your hair the extra hydration and care it needs. Our favourite hairmask for dry hair is the K18 leave-in molecular repair mask. This patented treatment is a bioactive peptide that enhances hair strength and elasticity. It can reverse damage caused by chemical services, thermal styling, and mechanical styling. It is suitable for all hair types. Apply the leave in-mask on freshly washed hair and leave it in for 4 minutes before styling. Your hair will thank you!

Step 3: Cold showers

Although it is tempting to take long hot showers during this time of the year, it may be better if you don’t. Hot water will cause your hair scales to open up, while they need to be closed in order to maintain hydration. And as we said earlier; hydration is key. What you can do is try washing your hair with lukewarm water, in this case you will not damage your hair. It is best to reduce the frequency of showers, or just quickly rinse your hair with only water. Can’t resist a hot shower? Make sure to end your shower with colder water, in order to close the hair scales and reduce the loss of hydration. Another important tip is to not go outside with wet hair in order to reduce the risk of damage!

Step 4: Use the right brush

A high quality brush, like those from Ibiza Hair, helps to reduce static, smooth frizz, and protect the natural oils that keep your hair healthy. The gentle bristles glide through your hair without pulling, making detangling easier and less damaging. Investing in the right brush is a small change that can make a big difference for your hair this season, keeping it strong, shiny, and ready to handle the colder days ahead.

Step 5: Use styling tools the right way

Styling tools are fun to use and can give you beautiful hair styling results. The only downside is that they can damage your hair severely if you don’t do it the right way. Your hair is already fragile at this time of the year so it is important to reduce the amount of heat and dry air. If you use styling tools like a blowdryer or iron curler, make sure to protect your hair with a heat protection spray (HeatBounce conditioning heat protectant K18) and use a lower setting. If you can, dry your hair softly with a towel by placing it around your hair and softly squeezing it.
